Ririe Idaho Kokanee
#1
I spent the weekend up in south east Idaho camping at PaliSades Reservoir, that place always kicks my butt and I struggle to catch fish there, so I took my boat over to Ririe Reservoir 27 miles away where reports said the Kokanee where biting. I got on the water at 6:00 am and fished until 11:00 am. I caught about 30 kokanee and kept 15 and caught and released 10 rainbows and 1 yellow perch. The Kokes ranged from 10" to 16" with about a 12" average. The fish are not big there, but it was fun catching that many by myself, it kept me busy. I caught them on a pink squid with a blade behind a 5" dodger between 40ft. and 60ft with the majority coming at 50 ft going between .75 and 1 mph. Because they where small I did not always see them biting, if I went five minutes with out a bite I would pull my line out of the clip and there would usually be a fish there. The Idaho BFT board was a big help with location depth and speed.

What is the daily limit on Kokanee in Idaho? 15 seems like a lot.

That would certainly make for good days of fishing. Congrats
