Randy and I fished Strawberry today and I caught 30 (all rainbows except for 29 cutthroats). Randy took high honors with catching 46 cutthroats. Most were caught vertically jigging with tube jigs tipped with cut bait and a few were caught casting and bouncing back to the boat. We missed lots of bites and lost several. No cutts over the slot and the largest fish caught was the 21" rainbow.

So glad to hear you guys did well up there, especially since I'll be headed up to try to do the same on Monday. It's been a while since I've jigged for the cutts. Should be fun, and I can see what the eclipse looks like over the lake.

are you catching any of the 10 to 12" cuts jigging
when I'm trolling for kokes I'm catching lots and lots (can't count them all) of those little buggers down 40 to 50 feet deep
it slows down catching kokinee.
also I have not got as many large cuts this year as I did last year.

37 to 39 feet, depending on which way the wind swung the boat. We fished the same spot until we left at 2:30 P.M.

No. We never landed a cutthroat that wasn't in the slot. We each lost one at the boat that were likely just under 15" long.

I went up today and caught a grundle of them too. I think I got some good Water Wolf footage underwater, the first time trying it while jigging, so it'll be interesting to see what's on there. I'll post up on a new thread.....

Glad to hear that others are catching tons of the little buggers. I am happy that there are lots of small cuts to grow up but we used to catch big cuts while trolling. Now you have to jig to catch the big ones it seems.
When over near the mouth of the narrows and jigged up a bunch of nice ones last time up.
Excited for fall to come and spice things up a bit.
