Scofield - Quick trip
#1
I fished Scofield yesterday from 12:30 until 3:30 from my tube in the Madsen Bay area. There was a small portion on the north end of the bay that was ice covered. I did not drive down to the south end to see how much of that might be covered.
I used a medium sinking line and a size 6 bead head midnight fire crystal bugger and a size 8 bead head black/copper crystal bugger. I picked up one rainbow and the rest were the cookie cutter cutthroats.

The water temperature was 38-39 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 3' - 4'. The reservoir level is 71% full and rising.

I had an interesting experience with one of the hooked fish. I got the fish about half way in before it threw the fly. When I pulled my line in to check the fly there was a small 2" minnow on my fly. I managed to steal the fishes last meal.[Wink] I've never had that happen before.

The fishing wasn't fast but the weather was great and I did hook one good fish.
