Deer Creek Slow Down
#1
Went up to Deer Creek Saturday. Got on the water at sun-up (a balmy 29 degrees at launch). Tried down toward the dam and picked up one Bow about 17". Moved East and picked up a smaller one which we released. Went up near the inlet and caught a couple more, but that was it. We used dodger/squids, Rapalas, and Flatfish. Most lures caught one, but not real hot overall. Might have been the last boat trip with storms coming in... Courtesy dock is still in.

Sounds like how we did, my daughter done ok with a rainbow rapala she ended up with 4 bows casting and reeling, while I jigged for eyes or perch, finally found some about 3 in wallsberg arm in 30 ft, missed a bunch bite was light, asked the girl that was tagging boats, they might keep the ramp open more this year, she said there was a new park manager. hopefully they will plow to the water. it sure was a beautiful day, except for the 2 power squadron boats,
