Joes Valley on a windy day
#1
I fished JV today in my tube from 10:30 until 2:30 and only managed to pick up two splake and two cutthroats. I wanted to fish the south end of the lake but when I got there whitecaps were already on the water. I ended up launching on the north end of the reservoir, across from the Sportsman's Lodge.

I used a medium sinking line and a size 4 bead head black/silver crystal bugger. I fished in 10' - 20' of water and I did not mark very many fish. I didn't have to give the fly much movement, the waves were doing it for me.[Wink]

The water temp was 40 degrees and the visibility in the water was about 5'. The reservoir is at 75% full (down about 15' from full) and stable.

It was a slow day of fishing but the soft water options are becoming more scares.[:/]

You are a tough dude, to get out there in a tube this time of the year, especially in a wind, glad you caught a few fish. Thanks for the report.
