O.K. Guys,

It's Feb. What is everyone fishing for this month and how are the bites in your state?

I used my custom BFT rod to spank Croaker and Corbina at a local Pier. See full report on CA Board........ [#ff0000]Report[/#ff0000]

Not much going on in New Jersey unless you're into Ice Fishing {I'm Not} but with the temps finally getting above 32 that may be short lived in the salt not many boats are going out now there are some going for Ling,Pollock and Cod and there is the offshore seabass but its not worth it for the few fish you'll catch right now just have to wait for the water to warm up a little Flounder season opens March 1st and Trout season opens in April usually in March the Blackfishing starts back up and then there is the Spring saltwater striper run but it all depends on the water temps rising into the 40's and man do I have the itch to fish I'm seeing my rod bend in my sleep

Hey aquaman, don't worry. You will have another chance to use it. I couldn't get anything on my BFT rod for the first 3 trips.[Sad] Then it started to work.[cool] It's just a matter of breaking it in properly. Once it is seasoned, then it will work like a charm.

Hey there theangler,

Near-shore and Island fishing here in southern California is at practically a standstill with flurries of good Calico bass, sand bass bites. Scattered catches of WSB, Yellowtail, Halibut and Bonito but otherwise the cold water, windy weather and negitive swell direction has got us zapped till March.

Things will look up with March and the White Sea Bass bite.

When it get's cold I head for the lakes. Trout action for bows is wide open and several local lakes and steelies will be showing up this weekend[laugh]

Saltwater action for shorefishermen is not to bad right now. I am hearing good action for corbina and halibut in Seal Beach and Huntington Beach areas. Might have to give it a try.

Remember, " Fishermen, fish. From the shore, pier, rock, bridge, tube, kayak or boat " we are there[Wink]
