Portland area fishing
#1
So, I notice that Washington and Oregon forums really suck. I have an unplanned trip to the Portland area for a few days and wonder if anyone has any advice where to wet a hook in the Columbia around there and what bites this time of year?

What do you want to target? If it was me I’d target steelhead on coastal rivers or if you don’t want to drive that far maybe the Clackamas. I’d check the Oregon Fish and Wildlife website as the trip approaches. Probable search/ contact local fly shops to see where they are suggesting to fish currently. Fishing the Columbia River proper isn’t my cup of tea but I guess it can be done.

When I lived there you could go to Washingtonlakes.com to get great info. When I typed it in I got this insted.

If it is the same, it should have great info.

I was hoping it would be late enough for spring chinook but not looking like it. I think I will end up targeting trout and steelhead. Thanks for the info so far all. Ill check all of it.
