So far only me, TD, and Pisco going. Big lake and would welcome any who can join us. MSM was trying to get sick enough to miss work so he might be there. Still early and not a lot of action yet but, hey, it's fishin."

I fished from 8 until 1:00 today. Nice but slow. Water was calm and about 48 degrees. Only caught one kittie -- a 26 incher, and had a couple of half-hearted bites. Tomorrow should be red hot fishin'. Hope you can make it. Launch time is 7-ish.

I’ve never been to a flotilla. I don’t know what to expect. Do I need to bring anything.

The flotilla is made up of a bunch of uncouth, course, and unprincipled fishermen, in this case cataholics, who get together to fish and tell lies. Expect anything but bring only what you usually take on a trip to Utah Lake.

We will be fishing from boats and probably going in different directions to find some feeding fish. We use radios to spread the word when/if biting fish are located. We are specifically looking for 30 plus inch catfish to surge ahead of the northern guys in the catfish contest.

The idea is to have fun together and catch some big cats and maybe even a walleye or two. You'll like it.

Hey Lynn good luck to you guys. Seen your 36”Er tonight he surfaced in front of me. Holy cow that was a big headed cat, but I couldn’t make’m bite. Did pick up his grand daughter and added another 26”Er to the score board. Nice of your pet to move up to the bear river we’ll try to treat it right. And I’ll let it go after a few photos. Later J

Sounds like I need to come up to your neck of the woods Jeff. Can't even get a nibble down on this part of the Bear.

I wish I could make it down there but unfortunately I am stuck at that pace called work. Its over rated. Avoid it if you can.

Then again, id have to paddle pretty damn hard to keep up with everyone if theyre on boats!

Hey John just as well come give it a try, it's very day to day here and even on the good ones I'm only getting two to three channels. Last night we got 3 between two of us. Two were 19-23" and the one at 26". Trip before they were 18" and mudcats. Nothing so far today. Keep hoping that big one will show up but maybe that look is all I'll ever get. I'm fishing new area to me and it's a little less predictable. Never know. Too much wind though. It really messes with my catching. Good luck. J

Nice lookin’ cat... fisherman— not so much.

Have you considered dynamite for that monster you saw? One more week and we will hopefully be past this ice fishing weather.

Good luck!

Hey Lynn, that was a pretty cat she should make lots of new baby kitties. Can't help the ugly feller holding it. Fun to catch one of those that you usually catch. I might even get back to last years score since she grabbed ahold.

Don't know why I'm finding a few good ones for a change but I'm kind of happy about it. Fraid the DuPont spinner would be tough to get away with and not near as much fun. Can't wait to get back out but too much on the plate this weekend. Later J

Oh oh I'm busted, stole my moms coat cuzz I was froze in my wind breaker. You know moms always looking out for ya even when you are old enough to know better. Not seeing much for carp sticking backs out yet so might be a few weeks yet before it gets going. I'll keep an eye out for them. Later J
