I planned to go fishing at Mill Meadow today but my fishing buddy had to stay home for a special delivery, a new bull from the auction.
Since I had my stuff ready to go I decided to give Starvation a whirl. I fished RG from 9:00 until 3:00 in my tube using both medium and fast sinking lines. Size 6 bead head leeches and crystal buggers were the only thing that seemed to interest the fish.
The water temperature was 42-44 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 8'. The reservoir is still full and spilling.
There were six other guys on kick boats in the gulch but there weren't any shore anglers or boats. I did see a couple of boats go up and down the main channel. I did see the other floaters pick up some fish but the fishing was anything but fast.
The wildlife viewing helps make up for slow fishing with the geese, ducks, osprey, and loons.
Over all it was better than staying home and doing yard work.[
