We took off as boat 15 and headed out the park wondering where to go. Made a last second decision to try topwater on a shallow flat. It was a bust. After blaming Dusty for my bad decision, he finally caught our first keeper on a shaky head on a dock in 12 feet of water. We took that bite and was able to catch 16 more fish in that slough, including a limit. We also caught and released a 17 3/4 smallmouth that just would not make the line. Ran back towards CFP around midnight and stopped to fish our favorite lighted docks. Took a few minutes but we then caught our largest fish on a worm, and proceeded to catch 13 more fish on five docks. Just could not upgrade more than a few ounces at a time. Ended up culling three fish and weighed in 3 that looked-alike. All fish caught on worms and jigs in 4-12 feet of water. The lowlight of the night was me busting my rear end with about 20 minutes left stepping off the front desk onto wet fiberglass. Scared Dusty more than it did me...
