Got on the water late after work, probably around 5. Just had a couple hours, so didn't have time to search much. The rain had let up, but was still very overcast with a little bit of a breeze, so we decided to hit some shallows that were wind blown. Saw a ton of baitfish at our first stop so we pulled out the swimbaits and I threw a baby buzzbait. Managed a couple of small fish on the buzzbait and nothing on swimbaits. Pulled in tight to laydowns and my son went to his favorite rig, a Texas Rig Brush Hog. I continued with swimbaits and mixed in some finesse worms. He caught a couple of 2 lbrs and caught 4 or 5 more short ones. All fish we caught were in less than 8 feet of water and where we were, there was little to no grass, just fishing laydowns and around rocks.
