There always seems to be a ton of great made in france Garcia Mitchell 300, 308, & 408 reels from years past on ebay cheap!
the 408's can be pricy at $35-$ 75 but hey they cost $30-40 20 yrs ago, and they were very well made . .
i think getting the 308 for less than $25 is a helluva deal!
just go to ebay and search for garcia 308 or 408 or 300
