Ice condition on Rockport and Echo 12-15-18

Well headed to Rockport saturday morning and went by Echo and Noticed lots of people on the ice, thinking Rockport would be just as bad i was surprised to not see anyone on the ice at Rockport so i went down to check the ice finding it only being inch and a half thick i could see why no one was on it. so went back to Echo finding 6" of ice and fairly good fishing for trout and perch.

Lots of people at Echo but found plenty of room away from others and me and a couple freinds and a few kids had a good day catching mostly 14 to 17 inch rainbows but also a few very nice perch!! I kept the perch and released all the trout...

I did an Echo/Rockport rekon trip today as well. We are jonesing for an ice trip tomorrow. Rockport was capped but looked sketchy and as you said, nobody fishing (see attached pic). Looks like it’s Echo for us tomorrow.
