Kind of slow day at DC...Kayaked around the north end of the lake and around the island from 8:00-11:00am. We caught 3 rainbows trolling rapalas and spinners. Tried a curly tail grub for a bit too but no takers. Nice day out though!

I was there yesterday
I also tried the curly tail grub it did not work
try this Pro-Troll Trout Killer are Kokanee Killers 2"
water mellon or a brads cut plug 3". you need to rig the brads plug right are it will not work to good. I made a video on youtube showing how. you need to run them with a swivel and about 28" leader can also use a 4" dodger you need to get down 10 to 25 feet 17 feet was best for me yesterday
years ago I fished with a guy at strawberry using them I got 3 fish to his one plus a 6 lb rainbow
he went out and bought some and never could catch fish with them why, I don't know they have been working for me the last 3 years

I got my butt handed to me on the 18th! I fished all over the north end and didn't touch a fish.
I wonder if I wasn't fishing deep enough if you were catching them in 17 feet of water and it was 24 feet deep. I didn't get close to that depth.
Do you usually catch rainbows that deep this early in the year?

have got a lot of big Rainbows this year using downriggers down between 17 and 25 feet in 40 to 50 feet of water the small ones I got were close to the top
you see them on the fishfinder down 30 feet
