I met up with Eylayo and Catchnon this morning to fish the Soldier Creek side of Strawberry. We got there a little after six and had our limits by 9:45 am. We caught them between 25’ and 45’ with 45’ being the most productive on pink mini squids behind pink, orange and pink and green sling blades, running between 1.3 mph to 1.7 stacking on 2 down riggers with 70 ft set backs on the bottom and 50’ on the top. I put a picture of our most productive set up below. We tried switching to fishing for cuts to no avail after we completed our limits and where off the water and headed home before noon. Thanks guys it was a great birthday treat fishing with you guys.

Good job guys - looks like they are even pretty decent sized compared to what we have been getting in the previous weeks.

Many thanks to you and Craig for a beautiful day on the water. Thanks for the trolling lesson. Sure set the bar high. Hope you're out doing something fun tonight for your B- day.

Thanks Shawn, the Kokanee is soaking in the brine and will go on the Smoker tomorrow, I’ll get some to you and Craig when it’s done.

I was lucky enough to get that first one which was 16" but they went down to 12" with an average around 14", just about what everyone has been getting, I guess. Sure was fun.

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.
