Tough day at Willard
#1
Thought I'd beat the forecast T'storms Thursday. Nope.

Arrived at the north marina to find the wind howling and whitecaps on the main lake. Debated just going home, but stood around hoping the wind would die, and soon enough, it did. Unloaded the 'yak and proceeded to find 6" crappie in the flooded bushes. Fished for half an hour and then the sky got black and lightning appeared. That's when I disappear.

Beached the 'yak on the ramp and again waited it out. Spoke with a couple boaters who also decided to not tempt the lightning. Got back out for a short while after the storm passed with no more strikes (of either kind!)

Then when I was loading the 'yak, it slipped and fell, leaving a nasty crease in my Highlander's lift gate. Gonna be expensive, likely.

The cleaning station works, although I didn't need it this time. Water level is up to the top of the ramp, and the water is only slightly dingy. 70° surface temps.

Rocky sorry for your less than stellar day and for damaging your Highlander.

Way to work with Mother Nature and you still manage to catch fish. That's awesome.

Sorry about the lift gate though [Sad]
