Liketroiling, could you explain a little how you set your water wolf up? Do you carry a card reader on board like a trail cam video viewer? Do you attach the wolf directly to the cannon ball or on your line? Really interested in picking one up. Thanks

this is what it looks like to the dodger If you want more of a close up you make your line shorter like 12"
the green line is so you can see the leader from the camera to the dodger
you need to use real good swivels
I hook the fishing line to the front end of the camera
then you let out as much line as you want then hook it to the downrigger Release
make sure you have good line and I retie my knots each day I use the camera
if you want to take a lap top on your boat you could view it.
me I just go home and look at it on my PC
you need to have VLC media player to view it

I wonder if the water is clear enough on the bottom of The Snake River to see. If it is clear enough it would be fun to give it a try, especially if one is able to watch it live.

I have a live camera that I have put down on the snake river and you can see the fish good but they would need to be close to the boat. the other camera that you put on your line don't no how it would hold up fighting one of those big things you catch. but may be worth a try that is only $140 if you lose it

Thanks for the info. This has my interest peaked. On really hot fishing days, have you tried hooking the camera directly to the rigger ball, then the release to the end of camera. Running your leader 4 feet behind this set up. Now you don't have to reel in the camera with the fish; also less likely to loose the camera. On the gorge I run very short leads from my rigger balls, but the depth is a lot deeper than most lakes. My main want for this camera is to tell on slow days if the squid I'm running is bringing them in, but not good enough to make them take it. So I want almost immediate feed back. That's why I asked about a card reader. Thanks for your time 😊
Side thought, I used to hook my pop gear to my rigger ball, then the release to then end of the pop gear. Hated reeling in pop gear, takes all the fun away. But I don't use pop gear any more, someone want them....lol
