Wasatch State Park Pond - Don’t Go
#1
I had seen a recent DWR post on Facebook about the fish limit being lifted at Wasatch State Park community pond, ahead of a draining/dredging project. I had an appointment in Heber City yesterday, so thought I would check to see if the pond was frozen over and fishable through the ice. I found out it has already been drained and they have started removing sediment.

There is a small stream that runs through the now empty pond, and it is frozen in spots, but not big enough to fish in. I did see a bald eagle on one small patch of ice. I think maybe any remaining fish died and are frozen in place and that’s why he was there?

Anyhow, don’t go up there expecting to fish.

Thanks for letting us know. I was hoping they wouldn't drain it so fast and that we might get a chance at some wipers and goldfish through the ice.

The older I get the more I would rather be considered a good man than a good fisherman.
