Last week I saw my doctor at the VA and told him the news was upsetting me more and more and I was worried about a future defunding of the VA Health Care system for vets such as myself. I have insurance and would do okay if services were cut, but I worry about that and many other negative changes our nation may be in store for. He said, "don't watch the news or read any political media source on the internet. It's not worth worrying about, getting p.o'd or trying to predict the future outcome of policies that are so controversial." His final word of advice,
"GO THE H FISHING AND ENJOY LIFE!" Funny though, I took his advice and I'm sleeping better (less insomnia) and less frustrated!
I'm retired from the V.A. after 18 years + 4.5 years in the service during Vietnam, and it's given me insights about the care vets receive. It's so important and always will be for those that saw action. The agency may need trimming like most of the federal government but not too much or in the wrong places.
