Air fried fish: perch, walleye, smb, WIPER
#1
I promised Wiper Hunter this recipe. I usually throw stuff together and don’t measure much. Had family and friends for fish and fish tacos tonight so I did some measuring so I could share it better.
You can adjust spices to your liking but this is a good baseline and always gets rave reviews! Tonight we had deep fried and air fried as well as fish taco fixings so gang could build fish tacos!! It was all excellent but several people in the group mentioned they really liked the crispy air fried alone and in fish tacos the best !! I actually thought it was better than the deep fried and it was very good!
We had perch , walleye, wiper all were very good!
As mentioned before trim red meat off on wiper striper you will like it better!
Sorry for the format I just took screen shots of notes I put together!
Enjoy!
This is the air fryer I use it has 3 racks, I can fit 6-8 pieces per rack +~ the recipe will do about 24 pieces of fish.

Thanks for the thanks !
Hit, Willard again today 12 eyes 1 cat 1 perch 1 wiper in 2.5 hours let a couple small ones go .
Crawler spinner rigs and cranks both worked great!
Beat the wind. Only took one pic of livewell! Figured they all start to look the same!

Had a few pieces of leftover fish in the boat this morning for a snack, pretty yummy cold ! Seasoning was on the lighter side , so could bump it up a little experiment to your liking. Could have used a touch more spice! I did it that way to be safe usually I just eyeball it was measuring for notes and kept it more basic. Tweak the recipe as you like, you should love it!

You did good getting that many in only 2.5 hrs. What time did you start fishing? Were you using any weight to get you worm harness down deeper?

Started about 6:30 ish found fish right away. Could not get a bite for almost an hour?, could have slept in! I did a lot of changing colors etc. . Then it was game on! Yes, I was using 3oz drop weight on Crawler spinner rigs and tried to keep spinner with-in couple feet of bottom. Got weeper cat and several walleye on spinner rigs. More eyes on cranks. Funny thing on last 3 trips one color crankbait out produced the others by far of course only had 1, bought 4 more! Did not get a single fish on that color, ran 2 for a long while! After switching, not sure it was color or timing but we started getting hits and had a double and other fish in quick succession. When we were limited on eyes , brother wanted to see if we could get wipers, perch or cull a smaller one. They were all strong in livewell. We were getting hits right and left and he kept losing them! I told him he wasn’t holding his mouth right!!? Finally I said let’s beat the predicted wind and traffic and get back early. I cut the fish to bleed them out and we headed into fillet them.
