Starvation - today - Sat
#1
Unable to fish today's annual "Catch-a-Cure" trmt, but fished Thursday & Friday.  Typical Starvy summer weather --- either flat & bakey, or white caps & rollers. The Big W seemed to come up around noon each day.  Hadn't bottom-bounced up there for several years, so decided to concentrate on the walleye.  Hooked up with a lot of skinny footers, but did manage to boat some nice 15-17 inchers.  The perch numbers & sizes also on the upswing.  Anxious to see the results of today's tourney.  Heard there were over 50 boats entered.

My son and I fished the tournament. I’m sorry- I don’t remember the exact results and they haven’t been posted. It was around a 10# bag for bass with big fish being 3lbs. Walleye was around 12# bag and 7 lbs for big fish. It was tough for us, but that’s usually the case competing against these anglers. We fished both sides and ended up with 3 keepers in each category. Boated a bunch of unders. It’s amazing how many of those “footers” are 11 1/2”. We did way better Friday, but the change in wind direction changed everything we learned and we were starting over. It’s always a good time to fish Catch a Cure. It’s very well ran and Camp Hobe is a great charity. If you’ve ever thought about doing a tournament, and feel intimidated- this is a good one to try. Super friendly.
