Jordanelle Koke size
#1
Just to point out to those who are "disappointed" in the koke size this year, the average size in OR and WA is 12. Anything
over 14 is a big one. I've been averaging about 16 with the larger ones taping at 17. Those fish will start hitting high teens by late August. Kokes grow a little over an inch a month. It was great when the big Kokes were taping over 20. Might get back there next year but likely what we are catching this year is what we will catch next year. Be happy - and hope the Berry finally gets back on track.

I agree with you totally! 15-17 kokes are certainly not bad , we may have gotten spoiled that last several years.
I watch videos of Washington and Oregon guys and they freak out at their big 13 incher ones!
These fish are super fat full of food they will put on a couple inches I think,
time spent fishing isn't deducted from ones life

I couldn’t get very excited about 12” fish. Unless they’re perch.

It's all base don what you're used to. No one here fishes Green Peter for 10" kokanee. We don't know they really even exist.

We know what's possible out of these lakes here and when they don't quite meet that expectation, I think it's natural to be a little disappointed.

On the flip side, we caught a couple of 18" kokes over the weekend before it got totally insane at Jordanelle. We were pretty happy about it given what we've caught out of there up to this point where historically an 18" kokanee would be totally unremarkable based on FG and Strawberry standards.
