Ever since my wife now caught the laker last winter on koke gear she is wanting to go after them more, we have tried a few time with the normal stuff that  everyone knows about with no luck, a few weeks ago we had a welder come in form another store for a job, got to talking and we swapped info, I give him info on eyes and he give info on lakers,

So after some more research and more tackle we made it up there Saturday evening, was on the water about 6:30,  put stuff out just like we where told to, not knowing what to expect, learning curve, her rod popped up, she grabbed it and started reeling, she said it feels funny, not like a fish more like a stick so she ezed up on reeling then she felt it spit it out, learning curve,  just before dark her rod popped up again, she started reeling shes like it feels likes its snagged, I said just keep reeling, finally it shook its head a bit and it was game on,  when she got it to the boat found out we need a bigger net, did manage to fold it into it,

note I never got even a tap, using the same thing, Sad

We tried until about noon the next morning, the only thing was a bow that took her lure when she was letting it out,
still figuring it out, maybe one day Ill get one. but it sure is fun watching her bring them in.

Great story and fish. Your wife is like my wife she always gets the big one! Usually the first time trying and she makes some smart comment why do you always go out for so long. Smile ?

I always tell my wife I’m the boat captain so I get credit for all fish caught on the boat!
