Nice to find where fish are and catch them
#1
I'd be lost without sonar and yesterday was an example.
I tried beating the banks, but not too many fish were caught. I went to the north end of the lake and started casting in 5' or less. Sure enough, the fish were in the middle of nowhere and hit my Crappie Magnet. Many of the strikes were soft and hooksets missed. So I figured that sometimes going larger gets fish to strike better. It did! The one shown is one I pour and is one of the best shapes I can count on.

So, I positioned the boat 50 yards from shore in 4.5 - 5' and caught over 70 fish: crappie, sunfish, perch and a few small bass.
Once the bite stopped in an area, I moved the boat parallel to shore 20' and started again. This pattern was one I used last fall and didn't expect it to work in Aug. It did!
