We arrived at 7:45 and were fishing by 8:30. Slight breeze from the north and cool at 51 degrees. Lines in the water and 5 minutes later had a double on. Both were released; a bit smallish. Yee Haa; this is going to be a bumper crop day. Wrong!
Went 2 hours more hours without nary a nibble. Changed out lures several times and still nothing. Finally, at about 10:30 AM, we had another hit; a crappie. Released. Next up, a fatty rainbow. Then a decent perch and then 2 more fatty rainbows. The wind switched around to the south and the lake was capping. Also, the wake board power squadron was churning up the water big time. Time to call it a day. My neighbor got to take home some nice trout and perch fillets.
Not a bumper day, but decent. Life is good.
