Castaic lake (Cali.) report

Went to california this weekend and got to hit the lower castaic lake, It was great thanks to some locals and a few custom made plastics they got me into some great largemouth bass after a few hours of trying by myself with no success they had me ten fish in about an hour it was great biggest was around 2-3 pounds there is an upper lake that has the record for the states biggest bass so im hoping to hit that next time. It was a great weekend got a decent tan and im ready for some more fishin.

It usually pays to get some help from the locals (or a guide ) if you have never fished a body of water before. I have numerous lures in my tackle box that a local told me to use. Then had success with it there, but not as much success elsewhere. Sounds like you ended up having a good time.

TubeN2 on the general boards and the california board goes to castaic a lot. He's seen some MONSTERs there and fishes it a lot.
