My dad is looking to break-in the engine of his new boat a.s.a.p. Utah Lake seems to be the place to go for open water, but how is the water depth in the harbors? He called the American Fork harbor and some old guy told him he could put his boat in there. That's nice and all, but putting the boat in and being able to get out to the lake without destroying a new boat are two different things. Can anyone help me?

If it were me dude I would go down to Yuba. Its ice free and 36 ft deep when I called the state park this morning. Throw the polls in and catch a few fishies while your there.

How big were the boats? My dad's boat is about a 24 footer.

he should be fine launching there, I dipped my oar down there at the outlet from the harbor and it was 4 feet, I'd still be very careful and use a depth finder.
