soldier summit fishing
#1
I drove though soldier summit again yesterday. Has anyone ever fished the creek and had any success? I have been tempted to stop but it looks pretty muddy most of the time. There are a few beaver ponds along the way. What type of fish are in there?

I THINK IF ITS THE AREA I AM THINKING OF YOU WILL CATCH MOSTLY SMALLISH BROOKIES. THERE ARE SOME BROWNS, I THINK IT FEEDS DOWN PAST/THROUGH SUNDANCE RESORT AND FINALLY MERGES WITH THE PROVO IN THE CANYON. I BELIEVE ABOUT 1 MILE BELOW BRIDAL VEIL FALLS AREA. UNLESS THERE IS ANOTHER SOLDIER SUMMIT, ISNT THAT THE AREA JUST OVER HEBER/MIDWAY?? THE ONLY OTHER SOLDIER ANYTHING I KNOW OF IS UP ON THE BERRY, THE SOLDIER CREEK SIDE OF THE LAKE.....I THINK THE STREAM THERE IS MUDCREEK THOUGH. AM I WRONG...I AM NOT SURE THAT I KNOW. BUT IF IT IS THE AREA NEAR CASCADE SPRINGS AND DOWN THE CANYON FROM THERE IT IS MOSTLY SMALL FISH...I THINK ALOT OF IT IS HARD TO ACCESS TOO. UNLESS YOU ARE BELOW THE SKI RESORT. HOPE THAT HELPS...[crazy]

The soldier summit I was referring to is up the canyon from Spanish Fork on your way to Price. I thought that was called soldier summit.

I think that it is named the White River. In my countless trips to Scofield, I have never seen anything other than elk wading in the river.

If your refering to the small stream before the scofield turn off, that is white river,it runs directly into lower fish creek which is a blue ribbon stream.I would think some fish venture up stream into white river, however I have never fished it,so I can't help you there. If your refering to the river that winds through the meadows a mile or two after the scofield junction, thats lower fish creek(known as the price river after the point where white river and lower fish creek merge)and that can be very good fishing for 12-16" rainbows and browns with an ocasional larger fish.Hope that helps Lonnie

Thanks for the information. I may have to give it a try next time I travel to Price. There is an area on the Price side that looks like it it heavily posted. I guess I'll have to try below that. Chicken.
