Friday Flounder Report
#1
Went out today on the Miss Point and I think it was a mistake not for lack of effort by the captains and crew the fish just weren't biting on the morning trip total 7 flounder 12 fares I got 1 afternoon trip 20 fares 8 fish I got another one bringing my grand total for both trips to 2 the water temp was 46 according to Dutch the afternoon capt they really tried to find productive spots we would stop a fish would be caught then nothing this went on all day we even went through the Mantoloking bridge looking for some action you might want to wait atleast another week maybe even 2 for the water to warm

I am in southern NJ,(Blackwood), what area are you fishing in. My DAD (89 yrs young)is a true fisherman, give him a string, branch, and a safety pin and he can fish all day. He is truly looking forward to this season and would like to know what is running and where. Is there a place I could go to to update this info daily? Thanks in advance and gl this season. Do I need to register to use these boards? I am a registered user of BIG FIsh Tackler.

It looks like you are registered I was fishing in Barnegat bay in the northern end on a party boat what kind of fishing are you interested in salt or freshwater right now in the salt flounder is really the only thing happening Striped bass should be making their spring migratory run anytime now in the surf just have to get the water temps up a little to get them moving into the area down near cape may they might be getting them already otherwise most of the saltwater action won't really start up until around May when Fluke fishing gets going in freshwater Trout season opens April 10 I'm not familiar with Blackwood can you tell me what other towns you are near and I can get some info on the area for you as far as keeping up with whats happening just keep checking here I try to get as much info on whats going on throughout the state I have some pretty good contacts for info and try to post it as often as possible glad to see that your DAD is still plugging away at the fish I hope I'm able to still get out there at that age I am the same way I'll stay out there all day and night fishing keep him out there as long as he can go and tell him good Luck from me I like to hear about the old timers having a good day on the water
