What was it?

O.K. I went fishing at lake powell last year and caught a catfish that was yellowish in color with a square tail and about 17 in. long. now it wasn't a channel and to big to be a mud cat so what was it?

any ideas?

and no I don't have a picture[unsure]

yellow bullhead or another type of mud cat the bullhead family

i also woud have to say bullhead (mud cat) the utah state record is 3 lbs 4 oz. and 16" long..in other states they have been known to get up to 6 lbs and over 20" long..

dude on fish?

Its a mudder. I've caught quite a few here in Utah that were 16+". Had I known they were state records I would kept one of em. Oh well, they've gotta bite again sometimes!
