Baitcaster Line??
#1

Any recommendations for line for my bait caster it is a low profile. I have Stren low vis green extra limp on it right now. Been doing a lot of backyard fishing trying to get the smart thumb.(nice to have a pocket knife with you) It seem to have a lot of memory from the spool. I am ready for some new line. Mono or a braided type line? I like fireline on my spinning reels. What about a spray lube for the spool. Thanks for the comments. Chip

Depending on what your fishing for ...

LMB,

I use 10lb Maxima for pitching & flipping, Spinnerbaits and jig fishing.

8lb Maxima for cranking, jerking and topwater.

Maxima is by far the best line I have used.

I use PowerPro in mine. It's like Fireline but is braided. It casts well. Get a larger diameter line, like 30# which is the same diameter of 8# mono. You can pull up tree stumps if you snag, and larger diameter lines are easier to get the rats nests out. Also, use a heavy bait at first, which is easier to cast.
