Florida Flathead Record Falls

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#000000][size 2]TALLAHASSEE, FL—Tommy Fowler of Hosford recently set a state [/size][/#000000][/font][font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#000000][size 2]record when he pulled a 49.39-pound flathead catfish from the Apalachicola River. Fowler's fish beat the former 48.4-pound record caught by Bobby Simmons from the Escambia River in September 2000.[/size][/#000000][/font]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#000000][size 2]Fowler caught the big cat at 1:15 p.m., April 13, while using a hand-size bluegill for bait. Interestingly, he had caught a 20- and 34.29-pound flathead shortly before hooking the record cat. [/size][/#000000][/font]
