Last year about this time was amazing...thought it was time to try it this year.
What was I doing thinking it would be the same. My report echos all the other Willard reports, nothing, nadda, zilch.
Hope it gets good sometime this year, I'm sick of wasting my time there and getting eaten alive by all those mutant skeeters.

I gotta agree, however have you ever fished Willard? You really can't comprehend the size and numbers of skeeters out there. They can make things miserable even with deet.

I've never fished Willard but one time I was fishing the Skeeters were so bad that I'd stop casting every minute or so and scrape them off my arm. I would kill dozens at a time and there was blood everywhere.

About a week before memorial day they spray and it kills the super huge mutants that are out there now. I went once this year and thats all I'm doing till after they spray. THOSE THINGS ARE HUGE.

we have hooked quite a few wipers out there already. its not zilch yet but it is slower than usual from what i have seen. i think predator said it best and that is willard is changing. expecting so much from it from the past. i will tell you one year i fished at least 30 days of full out skunking. so dont feel too bad.

those sketters at willard are devil spanwed got me coming of the lake with my tube one night they were so bad i had bites between my fingers

Yes the sketters are bad out there, but the thing is when you start getting those wipers to hit you forget all about the skeeters{almost anyway} to consentrate on hearing that drag scream or watching one or two of them swirl behind your lure. We fish from shore out there and we usually get iritated with them until the wiper move in. Of course the wiper don't move in to shore until almost dark and that is when the skeeters are the worst.I would fight off the skeeters to catch those fish anyday and there have been plenty of days we have gone out there and not gotten a wiper at all but then there is always that chance you will hook one and listen to that drag scream. There is nothing like it.

Mikecromaine and I will be at Willard Sat. morning. {if he gets up} He's been modifiying his boat so it should be easy to spot us. We will be the ones bailing instead of fishing. first time for wipers. this will be a hard time for your first time unless they get real active quick. cover alot of water and think a very very slow suspended presentation. if they are not a few feet off bottom drag it on bottom. use white.

If it was easy, it would take all the fun out of it! I'm one of those that just loves to got out. Catching anything is just a bonus. Not to mention the stories I can make up about Mike and his yacht. LOL Thanks for the info.
