Berkley Gulp
#1
I bought some "gulp bait" this month and opened them up and tried at Pineview with no luck . But when I left it on my line the worm was dried up and shrunk . The package says it is plastic free . One suggestion to all , keep them in the package or they will dry up and die on you . LOL Maybe the next thing to come out might be they will swim away from you if you lose them in the water . Not sure if I like them yet . Anybody else had any luck with them .

haven't had any luck yet, but when they dry up like that just soak them in water for a minute and it will come right back,

I have used them in the Weber, I have used them at Jordanelle, I have used them on Jordan river and caught fish at each place.. They are awesome, that is why they are five bucks a pack.

I know a couple of pro walleye fishermen who are a friends of a friend and one of them is sponsored by Berkley. Last year on starvation they did a little informal test where one of them used Gulp and the other one used nightcrawlers rigged on colored jig heads and they said that the Gulp definently caught fish, but the live bait outfished it by a wide margin. No doubt about it they said, both fished side by side all day from the same boat.

Nothing compares to live bait. But when live bait isn't practical, legal, or when you run out of live bait, then scent-enhanced plastics are a great alternative.

Another caveat with Gulp--don't leave it on your hook after a day of fishing or it will turn to cement and you'll have to cut off the hook.

I put on a jog head. I use spider wire so I would drag slow and bounce off the botom, no worries about snags cuase of the spider wire. Caught two nice browns out of the same whole with it... white and yellow..

Last month there was an article in F&S or Outdoor Life I can't remember wich one. But I think it said that if you put it back in the water it will take shape again.

The article discused Gulp and a similar bait. One of them you could not put a used worm back in the package because they are made of natural materials it can make the rest of the package go rotten. I will have to see if I can find the article it had good info on the stuff.

Gum,

If the area is a no bait water, don't use Gulp or a similar manufactured bait. These type of products are considered bait and you'll definitely get a ticket. They contain actual fish by products and organic materials that qualify them as bait. Just a heads up.

Good Fishing, Kayote
