DCRIM1, my father-in-law and I went to Strawberry on Saturday. We got there at about noon and fished for several hours. None of us so much as got a hit or bite. We exhausted our arsenal of lures, spoons, flies, and bait, but I think that fish were not very interested in what we threw at them. Oh well, despite the lack of fishing success it was a beautiful day and a very relaxing experience. Hopefully all that work will result in a more productive day next time. [unsure]

Hi Willfishforfood, just wondering did you take a boat out, or were you trying the shore? Also what area did you fish? I was thinking about heading up tomorrow. ---LICKER

Had a very similar experience. Read my "Sat. May 1st Strawberry Report" post. I was beginning to think I couldn't even catch a cold while out on the boat on Strawberry on Saturday, but I think our mutually poor success was typical for the day.

Boy, I couldn't even tell you the names of the areas we tried. I don't know all the names of the different marinas etc. We were shore fishing. Usually I take a float tube, but I wasn't able to this time. After reading all the other reports over the past few weeks I went with a sure confidence that I'd land at least one cut-throat. I figured it was an uneventful day of fishing when I began to count the amount of fish that I saw jump. There were three in all...[sly]

Have you ever tried trolling pop gear and a crankbait with a small lip on it black and silver? When i had a boat and the fishing was slow that was the only way i could get fish in the boat big cutts would hit!Usually everything that hit would be over 22 inches. But there was a certain spot i would troll i would line my boat up and troll that certain spot and i always got fish in the boat.Usually between 1-4 pm i would do that depending on how slow it was.Hope this helps.
