Great to here that you saw a snowshoe. I always enjoy seeing them. Don't seem to see as many as I used to up there.

Yea I've only seen one other one in my life, I just glanced over my shoulder and saw something white on the ground so I waited and when it moved I could tell it was a snowshoe hare (Its feet were the only white part, the rest was grey.) anyway it was cool[cool]

Went up along the Mirror Lake Highway Sunday with UncleRay. The gates at Soapstone are open and headed up the highway. We had to turn around at 11 miles past the gates about 1 mile below Trial lake and they are working on clearing the road. On the way up we passed 5 deer, 2 moose and one coyote. It was a real shock to the coyote but there he was standing on the side of the road not a care in the world.
Tried to fish Beaver Creek along the highway but the water is too high right now. So we left and hit Smith & Morehouse. We fished over by the spillway for 2 hours and limited out. I started with throwing an old lure I found years ago and caught 2 nice bows had plenty of hits but 2 was all I could pull up. UncleRay was throwing a panter-martin tipped with worm and had no luck. When we both changed to power bait BAM that was the ticket. Ray limited out then I finished my quota. Had some lunch, enjoyed the scenery and hit the highway for home.
Another banner day on the waters of Utah.

Thanks Just curious to see where they're at this time of year. And those mountain coyotes are fun to watch and hard to hit when your hunting them.
Thanks for the update. Can't wait to get up there myself!

I didn't go that far but it sounds like FFM did, he probably knows more than me, I got to around 9,200 feet in elevation and there were just a few patches of snow, unfortunately one covering the road just deep enough to keep us from going higher. You could probably get to the murdock basin road, but I don't know how far you could go.Hope this helps, also I would pm Flyfishingmoose.

Yes the road was clear passed that turn off. Should be cleared up to Trial Lake by this weekend. They were just below it last weekend, maybe withing a mile.
It was right @ 11 miles from Soapstone that the snow removal equipment was parked last Sunday.

With the warmer weather and the wind the past few days I think trial lake will be a good shot, I think I'll at least try there tomorrow morning. And if not then maybe hit Jordanelle or Smith & Moorehouse on the way back.

Sweet.... I was thinking of going up to see how the road looks up there and then hitting Jordanelle if I can't get up there to fish..... Maybe I'll see you up there. I drive a big gold chev truck and my tube if I'm on the Nelle is blue with a burnt orange top. Used to be a red top but the sun has faded it to orange. [cool] If I don't see you, I'll let you know how I do wherever I go.

Thats cool I'll be in a white Taurus with a USMC sticker on the rear plate and rear window. I'll be on the road early to the Uintahs and if it looks good will be at Trial Lake if I can get there, if not I'll be heading to either Jordanelle or SM. I sold my tube last year and am planning to get a toon, I've already got a trolling motor for it. So I'll be shore fishing. I'd like to get over the top and fish the creek by the Sulphur camp ground, Its part of the hayden fork but I call it "amber creek" during the summer the water is amber colored because on the minerals in the water and the little brookies are a hoot to catch on a fly rod.
Good luck if I don't see you....
