Mercury in our waters, fish and the health threaths..
#1
This is something that has always concerned me mercury in fish. I don't eat many of the fish I catch I release 90%. But I am still worry about water pollution in our country and I believe that most of you guys and gals are to.

I came across this story and I felt compiled to share it with you, I will not not share my political views just the story, regarless of yours or my opinion of this administration. We are all fishermen and women and our voices need to be heard. Mercury is a very serious threat to our waters fresh & salt, of this nation and the world, the food chain and ultimately us. You younger guys read for your wives and soon to be newborn children. Utah is not on the danger list YET. I fish in more states then Utah. 2 of my favorite places to visit are on the list Minn. and Missouri both have great fishing and have warnings not to eat the fish in some waters. Mercury is threatening the sport we all love. I have seen post about eating carp, cats, chubbs and most of the others which I think its pretty cool here in Utah (This is the place for trout state[Smile]) but maybe we need to be a little careful and think about this mercury thing when you eat them. There are even issues with eating tuna fish, halibit etc purchased from your local market. Read this site and checkout the links and sound off your thoughts to Wash. and the State Capital help keep our waters clean as possible.

Thanks for the link Deep cycle. I wonder if a regime change might help!

That's a nice article. Thanks for sharing it with us. I'm sure that Bush, as a bass fisherman, has water sampling done before he goes to any lake. Why wouldn't he care as much about the rest of us?

It just doesn't make sense.[crazy]

i first became aware of mercury poisoning issues around 6-7 years ago when i lived in portland OR. I remember very clearly about the local news stations doin reports on occasion that xxx lake/river has high levels of mercury and it was 'recommended' to "not eat fish from xxx body of water more than once a month".

Don't know about you but if it's not recommended to eat fish too often from a body of water because of poisoning of any sort, i will not eat fish from said body of water, ever! lol

let's see clinton was president back then....i kinda doubt he personally was responsible for the mercury levels at that time. It's a big business thing. Whenever there's large amounts of money involved, some people forget the difference between right and wrong.
