Weber River - 5/11
#1
Took Sparky for a little training to my spot on the river yesterday, mid afternoon and when we finished, visted with the land owner a while and then decided to do a little fishing at one of my favorite holes for a short time before heading home. Caught a few nice whites and small trout and then tied into a giant. He only measured 22" (have caught several this year), but I think this is close to the biggest/heavyest trout I've ever caught!!! His body was the thickest body I've ever seen on a trout. I was so anxious to get him back in the water so he could have the best chance of surviving I didn't realy examine him close. Hurriedly broke a stick for later measurement and rushed him back in. In reflection, don't even know if he was a brown or what. From memory, he was dark, black spots, brillant dark red/yellow sides and bottom. Doesn't make sense when I think back on it so I may be remembering inaccurately but he was big, hook jawed, dark colors and just beautiful. Which I had a camera with me.

That river has continuously treated me well and I hope it continues! It not only beautiful, but has an abundance of wild life, eagles, ducks, etc, and even some rather unfriendly moose. LOL

golden,

Usually fish between Rockport and Echo. This part is private/club just below Echo.
