The Wall 6/12
#1
[ul]Got to finally fish the wall with my good buddy Hitnrun on his 24' wellcraft today.. I have never fished it before but heard a lot about it.. Met him at 5am at Davies.. He kept telling me the WSB are hitting on the wall but I didn't believe him.. We got some nice dines from the reciever and headed out..

We anchored up and was getting bit right way but the wrong kind of bass.. Nice big Sandies and Calicos were hitting.. I could do this all day.. They were eating the plastics and dines.. Fished our first spot for about 3hrs and then decided to try another spot.. I got my limits of both species but no Seabass..

Our Second spot produced mostly the same thing but I did manage to catch a little Seabass.. Fished this spot for a while but for only Calico's and Sandies..

Then we tried some Halibut drifts.. Got bit instantly he was on but farmed it and it was a nice one too.. Thats what I get when trying to reach for my Corona just before I get bit.. We had a few bites but that was it..

Hitnrun had to get home by 2pm but we did stay out a little later..

Good day on the water.. Limit style bass fishing.. The Biggest was about a 6lber that Hitnrun caught.. I pretty much a gave a free clinic to Hitnrun on how to fish..

CK

PS.. I talked to my good buddy Carl from the Tradition.. He said he would give me some good deals to fish the wall at anytime so look for some upcoming Wall charters..[/ul]

Hey there CoronaKing,

Sounds like you had a good time. Thanks for the great report. I guess we both fished the Pierpoint.. er .. Tradition for a lot of years and it a nice boat and freshly refurbished. Karl, Jimmy and Danny all do their skipper jobs with lots of savvy!
