Bear Lake Question
#1
I'm heading up to Bear Lake on 6/23 and have a few questions for any one who fishes on the bear.

I have trolled for cutts along cisco beach but that is about the extent of my fishing experience up there. I would like to target macks but I'm certainly not opposed to catching other fish. I have know idea where to begin looking for any of them. I am set up with downriggers but if jigging works well that's even better.

If any of you seasoned bear lakers would be willing to point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. Also if there are any types of lures that are producing better this time of year, I could use all the help you are willing to give.

Thanks in advance.

This time of year if you are looking for macks I'd go deep about 70 to 90 feet

on downriggers fish right off bottom with a rapala or flatfish. Look around and find the fish then troll trough them the east side will be the most productive. Also I would suggest you fish early in the morning as soon as the first jet ski or water skier goes by you just as well real in and bag it. Hope this helps.

I am not the one to pass on any great tips! Still learning myself. I do not have downriggers or a kicker so I primarily jig with 3-4 inch tubes and a little cisco meat. Recent reports show that North of the marina in 30-40 feet of water has been good!
