Payson lake june 18-22
#1
We had a great weekend. I had read in the fishing report that they had stocked browns in there. We got alot of rainbows the first day. Then I switched to worms and couldn't keep the browns off.I got atleast 10 browns on Saturday. They ranged from about 9 inches to a couple at 13 inches. Went out on the raft Tuesday and got 8 fish in about 2 hours on worms off the bottom. My son also got 8.We got alot of fish all weekend. The rainbows mostly on Rainbow sparkle powerbait.

The only draw back was the shape of the campground. We have gone there for a family get together for the last couple of years and this time the bathrooms were terrible. They were never cleaned and they no longer have a dumpster. We asked the Camp host who is supposed to be the owner of the management company for payson why there was not a dumpster, she said they had budget cuts. They didn't lower the fee to camp there, so where are the budget cuts.

I am bringing this back to the top, because it is a gorgeous place to fish and a great place to take the family. I have filed a complaint with the DWR about the campground conditions and hopefully they will improve. They assured me they were looking into it. So if you need a place to take the kids fishing and camp it is perfect.
