Hey guys,
This guy I work with is going to head down to Quail Creek for the holiday weekend. Anybody have any advice to help him out with lures or places? He has never been there before, just read a few reports from various places online and he has sank a lot of money in his trip so far. Any help to get him to catch a few would be greatly appreciated.
Thx guys.

The big ones i have caught out of quail have all been on plastic worms. I texas rigged them and retreived fast then slow so they go up and down in the water. Texas rigged because you want to drop the worm by any structure you can find without getting hung up. I have always fished the west side near the *caugh* *caugh* - inlet.

The only thing he needs is a ton of luck. The place has never ending fishing pressure. If he gets even one fish he better be happy.

When I lived in Sin city, I would fish there frequently. I couldn't buy a fish there on anything except spinnerbaits, however, the blades usually produced for me. I usually fished early and late in the season, and that may have had something to do with it. Or it could have been total coincidence.

Quail Creek over the fourth of july weekend? He is nuts!!!!! I hope that when he casts he is able to hit water! He may want to get there early, or wait his turn at the boat ramp. Don't plan on calm water, even if the wind doesn't blow, the water will be wavy....
Head for the coves on the opposite side of the boat ramp...no roads over there, so you can eliminate shore fishermen, swimmers, picnicers, and sunbathers. Expect crowds of boats and jetskies everywhere....
good luck fishing.

[#804000]Both Quail and Sand Hollow will have water skeeters, so have him fish at night. The usual tactics should work fine. [/#804000]
