snake river small mouth
#1
Anyone been fishing for smallmouth on the snake in the last few weeks? I was up there three weeks ago and had two days of wind but was still able to catch about 100 bass in 1-1/2 days of fishing.

I was talking to Pat Milburn of the anglers inn fame on sunday. He was up there last week and did well. Lots of smallmouth over three pounds.
I will probably see you up there on the 14th.

yes there is alot of small fish but they do seem to run bigger than your average at the Gorge. my biggest fish on the river this year was four pounds it was caught on a three inch green pumpkin, pearl maniac salt stick Texas rigged. infact all the bass I have landed over two pounds this year were caught on stick worms.

maniac,
Stop - don't give away one of my favorites!!!! [shocked] LOL For the last 10-15 yrs I have been making at least one anual treek to the snake for smallies. I love it so much, it's river fishing!!!!! The biggest problem is the distance and the out of state fees. But It's worth it for me.
I'll give up my spot, below Swan falls. Would you mind telling us where you go. If you're hisitant, send me a pm, that is if you're willing. Will be glad to exchange secrets on favorite lures too. [Tongue]
