Willard Report for 10 Aug.
#1
Just got home from Willard and and it was a rather uneventful night. I snagged 1 small mouth in the dorsel fin and that was about it. I also had 1 other bite and saw no boils. The water level has dropped about 2 feet. It'd now 3 feet to the top of the island instead of 5. I got snagged on the tires and was lucky enough to save my lure. Another trolling fisherman also got snagged on what he thought was a tire, but ended up being an a rod and reel combo!! [laugh] Also saw a few meteors from the shower!

I went Friday evening from 4:00-8:00 the only action we had was from 5:30-6:30. We caught 5 wipers during that hour.
Never fished for wipers while it is dark. Is it usually good? Do you use a different color lure than you would when it is daylight?

I could see any detail on it. It was a black rod and black spinning reel. He snagged it about 10 ft off the bouy on the east side.

I do most my fishing from about 6:00 pm till 11:00 pm. It seems the fishing was alot better when it was warm during the day. They were real active at night. Lure selection doesnt really matter color wise. Just as long as it rattles, thats the key. Oh, and another thing if you plan on going at night. Take a glow stick, crack it and tape it to the top of the bouy. Makes it alot easier to see and gives you a good marker so you know were you are.
