Pete Gill from Nevada State Parks said that fishing started out the week slow but picked up following the NDOW rainbow trout plant.
Boaters fishing in deeper water reported better success than shore anglers. Stocked trout that measured 11 inches were taken with live worms.

[#990033]ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR[/#990033]
Fishing pressure continued to be very low. The water level is low and the few anglers who fished reported that fishing was slow.
Striped bass fishing continues to be fairly good for boaters in the Boulder Basin while anglers who are trying their luck from shore are still being frustrated because few fish have been coming within their casting range.
Boaters have been doing well for stripers at Las Vegas Wash by fishing deep with anchovies. They are also catching stripers off Special Events Beach and in open water near the mouth of Government Wash.
Anglers have been reporting to the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) that they have been catching some stripers that are thin. This could be caused by a lack of shad due to poor spawning success this year of the small bait fish.
Several anglers have told NDOW that they have had good success for channel catfish during the past week at Special Events Beach.
Very few anglers took to the water over the weekend because of windy conditions. Creel census clerks checked three boaters over two days and they only brought in a pair of largemouth bass.
[#990033]LAKE MOHAVE[/#990033]
Fishing activity was at a minimum during the weekend because of high winds.
Even so, fishing was fair for boaters who took to the water and they were catching striped bass that ranged from less than a pound to slightly over a pound. The action is still confined mostly to the narrows above Cottonwood Cove.
It was elbow-to-elbow fishing on Friday (9/17/04) as a large crowd was on hand for the rainbow trout plant at Willow Beach. It appeared that everyone managed to catch 3 or 4 fish, but very few 10-trout limits were reported.

[#990033]WAYNE E. KIRCH WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA[/#990033]
Very windy conditions on the management area kept a lot of anglers away. Fishing pressure was low but those who fished reported good success early in the week. A few largemouth bass and small rainbow trout were taken.
NDOW stocked the local reservoirs with rainbow trout this past week. Adams- McGill Reservoir was stocked with 20,000 fish and Cold Springs Reservoir with 8,000 rainbow trout. The fish averaged 11 inches. Haymeadow Reservoir is scheduled to be stocked this week.
Anglers reported good success for stocked channel catfish at Lorenzi Park, Floyd Lamb State Park, and Sunset Park in Las Vegas and Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City. The fish were taken with an assortment of baits.
