strawberry report 9/29
#1
we got to the launch ramp at around 10:00, the water was full of chunks of moss. we fished all over the lake with every thing we had. we caught 2 drifting with whole crawlers no weight, in mudcreek bay. we caught 2 casting with rooster tails in mud creek. and we caught 6 more trolling with rooster tails on lead core 2 colors down. all fish that were caught were caught in 20-35 feet of water. we left at dark. we ended up with 10 fish.
what was up with the moss on the surface?

Utcatman,

We had the same moss problem on tuesday at Strawberry. Most of the time the fish finder didn't work or give accurate bottom readings because the water is so mucked up with moss. The moss is from the lake turning over which I guess happened late last week. Read the post called "turning over" written by Jigg-N-it from the last 2 days. Its got good info about when and why the lakes turn over and what happens when they do.

I posted a report on papabaru's report for strawberry on 9/28 if you want the details. We finally found the fish and what they wanted the last hour and a half a caught a lot of fish. Not the usual size though with many of them in the 15-16 inch range. The biggest was maybe 19-20 inches but only one of those. We usually see a few in that range or a little bigger. Check out my report.
