Started off launching @ 4PM just south of the dam. After launch I hooked up the fish finder to see where the fish were hiding. Moving around I had a hard time getting any fish bleeps on the finder. Once I went to deeper water 40 + feet I started seeing fish at the 10-20 feet deep mark so I put on a curly tail and a 1/8th ounce jig with a chartreuse head and black eye in a tandom setup. I chucked it out there towards where I found the fish and after about 4 casts I had hits on both jigs on the line. I realed it in and found the tails completely bitten off. Thank Gary Yamamoto for making weak grubs that cant even withstand a perches bite. I played there for a bit and had several bites from the perch and hooked a few but they got off. Out of about a dozen serious bites I landed one perch. The school moved on so I did also.

I noticed about 200 yards south of me there was a Bass boat with 4 anglers on it that were landing bass pretty steadily in the deep (approx 40 feet). They moved on so I went over to see what they were fishing. I found a couple bleeps here and there but nothing major. I setup a drop shot rig and attached a piece of a worm to it to try and get some takers but nothing. After about 2 hours of nothing I hooked up a trusty spinner with a pink rooster tail on it that TubeDude gave me and weighed it down with a 1/4 oz weight to get it down a bit more and I began trolling really slow about 50 yards out from the shoreline (Approximately 30 feet deep water). 20 minutes into trolling I landed a 16 inch Natural Bow. Very healthy and excellent colors. Good to catch a natural and not a planter for a change. Once I caught one bow I moved back to the jig rig to catch more perch.

It was starting to get dark so I worked my way back to where I launched which was in a cove area. When I returned my fish finder went crazy, I was seeing fish everywhere, I could only guess it was perch so I started into them. Bite after bite, I was getting hits on every cast. I landed 5 more perch in about 20 minutes. I didn't want to stop but I had to pack up the toon and get it all put away. I worked my way to the shoreline and I was still getting hits like crazy on my white/chartreuse jigs. Wish I had more time and a proper flashlight to light my way back so I could spend some time on the water in the dark.

Overall things were good if you could find the fish.

6 Perch, 1 Bow, and loads of bites. Action wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

How do you know it was a natural bow?

All fins were intact. All stocked fish have clipped fins.
