This is the problem. I want to get some frozen ballyhoo and Menhaden 13,000 miles away to Guam. I just got back in the states a little while ago. A friend suggested dry ice, the problem is I don't know a thing about it or how it works. Help me out on this one guys, I want to try these baits around the island and see how they do. None of the locals I have talked to use ballyhoo or anything of that nature. I think it will work really good. How do I get'em there boys?

Dry Ice is your only option. I dont know how much your takeing, or how your getting it there to tell you how much. but I use it all the time and it WILL freeze it solid if you buy enough!

use "Bait Cure"
or other drying cure containing Borax.
once applied to your baits you can then freeze them and keep them referegerated in a cooler for transport later.
some of the cures will hold for months in the frige or a year or better in the freezer.
try your local Bass Pro or cabela or gander mountain for the cure. (salmon egg cure- works with bait fish as well)
or you can mail a buck to [indent]
Atlas Bait Co. Inc.
PO Box 608
Fort Atkinson WI 53538

they will send you a catalog of their products.

Hey there Tarpon4me,
Guam used to have bait fish farms and supplied the tuna fleets with fresh live bait. Wonder if those operations are still around or supply joe blow with inexpensive bait ...... if the right species!
