Weber River 11-11-04
#1
My son invited me to fish the Weber with him up by Taggerts this morning. We started about 8:00am in sleet and rain. We were looking for browns and we found them. We had to be careful around the spawning beds and stay on shore. We caught and released a lot of fish in the 16" to 18" range with a few that went over 20". We were fly fishing with scuds and pheasant tails.
If you fish the Weber this time of year please be aware of the reds [spawning beds] and don't disturb them.
Ice is coming!!!

Good to hear that you caught fish, I have not done very well around Taggarts lately. What color scuds and were the pheasant tails bead head?

The scuds were grey or dark brown and the pheasant tails were size 18 without a bead head, but I did tie them with a flash back. I was dropping them behind a San Juan worm or a glow bug. The river was low so no sinker was needed.
