causey report 1-16-05

Hit causey today with my brother in-law. Started fishin about 11am, headed towards the narrows. started pretty slow, but after messing around a little found the fish suspended about 30 feet down. After that it was pretty quick. We caught 1 tiger and 12 or 15 splake, none of which were very big, did ice 1 nice bow about 16". After that it slowed terribly and we headed back and up the other arm towards the scout camp. Picked up another 8 splake in the 12-14" range in about 1 hr. All in all not a bad day on the ice. one note take either a power auger or make sure the blades on your hand auger are very sharp. THE ICE IS THICK!!!!!

Thanks for the report. This time of year Causey can get really thick ice! Sure makes for a workout when drilling holes!
